    This is July 12, Daqing Petrochemical Company refinery set a set of atmospheric and vacuum distillation unit is under intense tension. Here, the installation staff will have to make a bold innovation: replace the ceiling condenser core without stopping.


    At the beginning of April, the equipment personnel discovered that the E148B tube bundle of the ceiling condenser leaked during sampling. Bao Guozhong, the workshop director, said: “E148B acts as a fuel and steam source on the top of the cooling tower. If there is an internal leakage, it is necessary to control the temperature of the decompression tower top and reduce the top return to open the double pump operation. Under normal circumstances, the condenser appears inside. Leakage must be replaced when the device is overhauled. This set of atmospheric and vacuum distillation devices is in a long period, there is no maintenance plan this year, only to wait until the next major repair next year to replace."


    In the next three months, this hidden danger has become a “heart disease” for oil refinery and workshop staff. How to deal with it and how to deal with it has become a research topic for the conference. To say that the program is nothing more than two, stop work replacement and non-stop work replacement. The loss caused by the shutdown and replacement is too great, there is no precedent for non-stop work replacement, and the risk is high. After careful consideration, the factory finally decided to replace it without stopping, once the emergencies occurred immediately.


    At 6:00 on July 12th, in the main control room of a set of atmospheric and vacuum distillation units, the factory leaders, office leaders, etc. were in the main control room to understand the derating and replacement preparation. In another conference room, the voices of “three shifts responsible for cleaning up the site”, “four shifts are responsible for replacement”, and “five shifts to supervise the control system” were heard. Stop E148B circulating water, close the valve, open the air... everything is in order.


    At 9:00, the blinding work is prepared as planned. Due to the hydrogen sulfide component in the E148B pipeline medium, the top-down gas is added to the blanking plate. Once it is operated incorrectly, it will cause hydrogen sulfide poisoning. Adding blanking panels is the biggest risk point for replacing condenser cores online.


    At the same time, the operators and technicians in the installation are also working with Daqing construction workers to add blanking panels... The main control room. The operators are carefully controlling the temperature of the heating furnace, the temperature of each side line of the atmospheric and vacuum, and paying attention to the change of the vacuum level. As well as ceiling recirculation pumps and so on. Because these two pumps are critical, once one of them has gone down, the overall plan will be overturned and all work will be done.


    The time passed in one minute and one second. At 9:30, with several whistles buzzing, the condenser E148B core slowly pulled out and slowly landed under the traction of a large crane. Afterwards, the device personnel immediately put a gas mask into E148B to clean up the dehydration package. After the clean-up work was completed, the crisp whistle sounded again and the brand-new core gradually rose under the crane and completed the new core reloading work in the air. This is already 13:30.


    Seeing the new cartridge back and the floating head buckle, the tension of the device personnel fell by half. Immediately afterwards, the plant personnel immediately put into the work of using the vacuum pump, measuring the amount, and restoring the operation...


    At 17:00, the operation of a set of atmospheric and vacuum distillation units returned to normal. Finally, the online replacement of the condenser was completed, breaking the previous practice of stopping work only, achieving “one good job” and completing the contest between innovation and tradition.
