Shanghai GKN Driveshaft Company stated that the company has begun construction of the second precision foundry in Huazhong, Wuhan . The plant will have a total investment of 15 million pounds (141 million yuan), and will provide 11 million sets of transmission system components for the automakers in Central China. The company did not disclose the start-up time of the new plant.
Shanghai GKN Driveshaft Co., Ltd. is a global joint venture between GKN Drive International Co., Ltd. and Shanghai Huayu Automotive Systems. The two parties have already set up factories in Wuhan. There are also two factories in Shanghai and Changchun. The company also has a joint venture factory in southwestern Chongqing.
