Seco's newly designed indexable thread milling cutters and inserts represent another step forward in threading applications. The new blade is very easy for the operator to install, it has cutting edges on both sides, length 40mm, can be used to increase the thread length. In some cases, the same blade can be used for left and right threads of the same pitch. The entire series offers Seco's tough and wear-resistant F30M grade, which is a universal choice for all materials.
In order to hold this new type of blade, Seco designed a series of multi-tooth cutters with outer and inner hole threads. Up to six inserts can be mounted on the cutter head for more efficient threading. Unlike tapping, the milling thread can be machined to the full depth of the profile, even for materials that have been hardened, without affecting the thread's shape, surface roughness, or accuracy.

Seco's Threadmaster cutters can produce threaded holes as small as 4mm in diameter, providing higher thread quality, productivity and lower cost per hole than traditional tapping. These 2xD thread milling cutters can reach 100% machining depth, and the characteristic large helix angle can reduce the cutting forces that make the machining difficult, in the final threading of expensive parts. This type of thread milling cutter is also designed to have very good rigidity and vibration resistance, allowing higher feed rates and longer tool life.
Threadmaster's TiCN coating provides the toughness and wear resistance required to process all ISO materials and even high temperature alloys. The internal cooling holes are provided on the arbors with a shank diameter of 8 mm and above, which improves chip removal and improves tool life and surface roughness.
