The adjustment should first determine whether the timing gear mounting position is correct, followed by checking whether the gear surface clearance meets the requirements. If individual valves are opened or closed early or late, and the error value is not large, the valve clearance can be adjusted. Adjusting the valve clearance appropriately can correct late, and the valve clearance can be appropriately adjusted to correct early. The commonly used adjustment methods are:
First, the offset camshaft key method
If most of the inlet and exhaust valves are on the side of the valve and the phase difference value is close to the same, the offset key method can be used to adjust. The offset camshaft key method changes the cross-sectional shape of the connecting key of the timing gear and the camshaft to adjust the phase of the valve. The change of the key shape causes the timing position of the timing gear and the camshaft to fluctuate. The corresponding angle is shifted to change the phase of the valve.
Second, the camshaft timing gear axial movement method
Since the timing gear of the lower camshaft is mostly a helical gear, if the camshaft timing gear is axially displaced, the meshing position with the crankshaft timing gear can be changed, so that the camshaft is deflected by a certain angle, thereby changing the gas phase distribution. Position (camshaft axial clearance requirements remain unchanged). In actual repair, the timing gear is generally adjusted by changing the thrust flange thickness or the timing gear hub thickness so that the timing gear can obtain the axial displacement.
The accuracy and reliability of the gas distribution phase have a great influence on the life of the diesel engine and the economic and dynamic performance of the work. Therefore, in the diesel generator set repair process, the gas phase needs to be based on the performance requirements and operating conditions of the diesel engine.
