As of May this year, Shandong natural gas vehicles have grown to 86,823 vehicles, including 12,965 LNG (liquefied natural gas) vehicles, ranking first in the country. In 2013, the Shandong road transport industry used a total of 60.243 million cubic meters of natural gas, equivalent to about 512,000 tons of standard diesel oil, and reduced carbon dioxide emissions by 388,000 tons.
It is reported that the Shandong Province Expressway Service Area LNG Refueling Station Planning (2013-2020) issued in 2013 is the first special project for the construction of LNG filling stations in the first provincial highway service area. In order to standardize the daily operation, maintenance and inspection operations of LNG vehicles, the province has also formulated the country's first local standard for LNG vehicle application and prepared the Technical Specification for the Use, Maintenance and Testing of Commercial LNG Vehicles. At present, the specification has been officially released by the Provincial Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision as the local standard of Shandong Province, becoming the first local standard for LNG vehicle application in China.
