Toray Japan is making great efforts to enter the engineering plastics market in emerging regions. Currently Toray has conducted feasibility studies on setting up production bases in India, Indonesia, China's inland regions, and Brazil to meet the growing needs of the auto parts manufacturing industry in these regions. Toray plans to adjust its global supply system in the next three years to better serve emerging market users and increase its engineering plastics business competitiveness.
Before officially entering the Indian market, Toray has commissioned local Japanese-funded enterprises to produce polyamide fiber and polybutylene terephthalate resin and sell it locally. In September of this year, Toray opened a Liaison Office in New Delhi, India. In addition, Toray also sells ABS plastic resins through its Malaysian joint venture.
