    Jeff Rudolph captured the scene of a fire this morning in Winthrop Harbor, which falls under MABAS Division 4. He provided the following details and photos:

    A structure fire was reported around 08:00 AM at 11905 12th Street. The fire was on the roof of a one-and-a-half story home, possibly caused by lightning. Zion Quint 1832 was the first to arrive and made the initial attack. Winthrop Harbor Engine 1711 laid a supply line. Additional support came from Newport, Beach Park, and Zion. The incident was quickly brought under control, with most units returning en route, except for North Chicago and Pleasant Prairie, WI.

    The fire, believed to have started due to lightning, was quickly contained. Local crews worked efficiently, with multiple departments responding to ensure safety and control. It was a reminder of how critical rapid response is, especially during severe weather conditions. The community remained vigilant as firefighters completed their work and prepared for any follow-up actions.
