In March 2013, Guangxi Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd. began research and development of small-displacement diesel engines in 2004. The YC4W engine has been completed and researched and is currently undergoing small-scale production.
It is understood that Yuchai YC4W engine has a total of 1.2 liters, 1.4 liters of two kinds of displacement, the main current is 1.4 liters displacement. At present, the main target markets of YC4W models are overseas, such as Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and South America. The domestic market is also under development. Annual sales are expected to be around 100,000 to 200,000 units. After the market environment matures, the 1.2-liter product is also expected to be introduced to the market.
The model has a power of 64kW to 77kW, a torque range of about 190N·m to 220N·m, and a power rating of 45 to 55kW/L. In terms of exhaust emissions, the YC4W engine can meet the National IV emission standards and have the potential to upgrade to the country's five and higher emission standards.
According to Yuchai's technicians, compared with the gasoline engine, the thermal efficiency of the diesel engine is increased by 30%, the power is greater, the service life is longer, the power is stronger, and the greenhouse effect can be reduced by 45%. When the emission standards are met, diesel engines have lower carbon monoxide and hydrocarbon emissions, and the 4-cylinder diesel engine's torque output can easily exceed the 6-cylinder gasoline engine.
