10 people stole 7 national and 3 cultural relics in Beijing’s tomb guilty confession in court

Yesterday morning, 10 people such as Shen Huaimin and Yang Wanwu were tried at Huairou Court for crimes of theft and reselling of cultural relics.
Stealing cultural artifacts
The public prosecution alleges that between May and September 2013, Shen Huaimin gathered Peng Yuzhu, Li Deshun and other 7 people and then flowed to Jiuduhe Town in Huairou District, Wangsiying Township in Chaoyang District, Lingzhao Temple in Yanqing County and Yexianta Scenic Spot in Miyun County. Xihaizi Park in Tongzhou District, Sanhe City in Hebei Province, Beishicao Town in Shunyi District and Jiulongchi in Changping District have stolen more than 10 pieces of cultural relics, including 7 National Grade 3 cultural relics and 2 pieces of general cultural relics.
In addition, Yang Wanwu, Yang Tao, and Yang Chunfeng were also accused of allegedly reselling cultural objects. From May to September 2013, three people reselled the cultural relics prohibited by the country for the purpose of making profits. They jointly purchased 11 cultural relics from Shen Guolin, including three tripods, three national relics, and lions, lions, etc. There are 9 pieces of general cultural relics; the spit tap is a building component on the guardrail of a large ceremony building in the Qing Dynasty. It has certain reference research value for the study of palace construction in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. In the court yesterday, 10 defendants all pleaded guilty.
Reselling stolen goods for profit
In July 2013, seven people including Shen Huaimin and Peng Yuzhu premeditated the theft of stone carvings in the village committee of Hongmiao Village, Jiuduhe Township, Huairou District, and implemented preparatory work for the dogs in the villages near the villages where they were ordered and died.
