According to the Chicago Tribune, emergency crews were called to the Fox Valley Services warehouse around 1:15 p.m. after reports of an initial blast. A second explosion followed shortly after, leading to structural damage, including the front wall being blown off. Firefighters managed to bring the fire under control by 5 p.m. Cary Police Chief Steven Casstevens confirmed that three employees were taken to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries. A hazardous materials team was also deployed due to the presence of flammable substances in the paint manufacturing facility. Witnesses described hearing a loud explosion and seeing heavy smoke and flames from nearby businesses. One local business owner, Jim Hursh, said he saw fire trucks and ambulances rushing to the scene, along with a man with visible burns. Tyler Tobolt, who captured photos of the incident, noted that the Cary Fire Department arrived around 3 p.m., with multiple explosions and heavy smoke reported. A Haz-Mat response was later called in due to potential chemical leaks. The area was evacuated for safety, and several photos from the scene were shared online.
