In order to prevent the summer coolant temperature from being too high, in the process of using the car, attention should be paid to the following aspects:
(1) Proper use of closed cooling system
Modern car engines use closed cooling systems, radiator caps are sealed, and an expansion tank is added. When the engine is working, the coolant vapor enters the expansion tank, and then flows back to the radiator after cooling, which can prevent the evaporation loss of the cooling liquid and increase the boiling temperature of the coolant. The cooling system should use high quality coolant with anti-corrosion, anti-boiling, anti-freeze and waterproof scale, and must be sealed in order to receive the effect.
(2) Keep the cooling system clean inside and outside
This is one of the important conditions for improving the heat dissipation performance. When the outside of the radiator is stained with dirt, oil, or heat sinks due to collision, the airflow will be affected, and the heat dissipation effect of the radiator will be deteriorated, causing the temperature of the coolant to be too high. Therefore, radiators should be cleaned or trimmed in time. In addition, when there is scale, silt or oil in the cooling system, the heat transfer of the coolant will be affected. Adding inferior cooling liquid or water will cause the cooling system to increase fouling, and the scale's heat transfer capacity is only a few tenths of the metal, so the cooling effect becomes worse. Therefore, the cooling system should be filled with good quality coolant.
(3) Keeping sufficient amount of coolant When the engine is cold, the liquid level of the coolant should be between the highest and lowest mark of the expansion tank (Figure 1). If the liquid level is lower than the lowest mark of the expansion tank, it should be added in time. . Note that the coolant in the expansion tank cannot be filled and there should be room for expansion.
(4) Keep fan tape tension moderate
Fan tape is too loose, so that the pump speed is too low, affecting the circulation of the coolant and accelerating the wear of the tape. However, if the tape is too tight, it will wear the water pump bearing. In addition, the tape must not be stained with oil. Therefore, it should be checked regularly to adjust the tension of the fan tape. During the examination, press the middle of the tape with your thumb, as shown in Figure 2, with a force of about 98N. If the tape deflection is about 10-15mm, it indicates that the fan tape tension is appropriate. Otherwise, adjustments should be made. During adjustment, the position of the generator bolt can be moved to change the tape tension, as shown in Figure 3. If a new fan tape is replaced and the tension is detected, the tape deflection is approximately 8-10 mm.
(5) Avoiding the engine during heavy load working hours When the engine load is large, the coolant temperature will be too high. For example, in some cars with low power, the owner of the car increases the throttle to run at a higher speed, and some cars make the air conditioner run for a long time in the summer, which can easily cause the phenomenon of “opening the potâ€. Therefore, when the car needs high-power operation (such as climbing), in order to prevent the engine temperature is too high, should be promptly swapped into the low gear, in order to reduce the engine load.
