Forestry is Russia's main industrial sector, and its output value accounts for 5% of the total industrial output of Russia. Since May 2006, the tariff for exporting unprocessed timber is 6.5 per cent and not less than 4 euro per cubic meter. From January 1, 2007, the tariff will reach 10%, but not less than 10 euros. In addition, it also vigorously combats illegal logging and strengthens the supervision of forest resources. All these policies and measures are conducive to the development of the Russian forestry sector, and therefore will also increase the demand for forestry equipment and woodworking machinery.
At present, there are many factories producing forestry and woodworking equipment in Russia, but most of them are sawmill equipment, including debarkers, flat saws, and straight saws. These machines cannot meet the needs of their forestry development and cannot produce high-quality products. .
