Peacekeepers favor Iveco Motors
On November 30, 2003, the Chinese military made a strategic decision to purchase seven Iveco vehicles as part of a special arms procurement initiative. These vehicles were intended to support a newly formed peacekeeping force that would soon be deployed on United Nations missions. The selection of Iveco was driven by the demanding conditions these peacekeepers would face—extreme weather, rugged terrain, and significant temperature fluctuations between day and night. As a result, the vehicles required exceptional adaptability, durability, and performance.
Iveco, an Italian company with deep roots in NATO military operations, brought advanced technology and proven reliability to the table. Its military vehicle production lines are aligned with NATO standards, ensuring high technical and tactical performance. Nanjing Iveco, the joint venture between Fiat and China, applied even stricter quality control measures, conducting extensive performance tests and continuous technological upgrades. This rigorous development process spanned four to five years, involving real-world trials in cold regions, deserts, high altitudes, and extreme humidity zones.
In April 2002, Iveco conducted a groundbreaking airdrop test on the NJ2046 military vehicle. Despite strong winds of 13 m/s—well above the typical threshold for such operations—the vehicle successfully deployed five parachute systems during its 800-meter descent. Upon landing, it remained undamaged, with all systems functioning properly. It was immediately put into service, showcasing the vehicle's remarkable resilience under harsh conditions.
The NJ2045 and NJ2046 series are widely used by NATO forces. However, due to the distinct environmental challenges in China—such as extreme cold and large temperature variations—Iveco implemented key technological improvements. These included enhanced glow plugs, low-temperature batteries, and electric fuel pumps, enabling the vehicles to start reliably at -41°C after six hours of maintenance. This level of performance underscores why the military chose Iveco.
This month, Nanjing Iveco received a critical order from Beijing, with a tight deadline for delivery. The military required the vehicles to be completed and delivered within the same month. In response, Iveco mobilized quickly, treating the project as a major political task. Two core commitments were made: on-time delivery and top-quality products. All departments worked in unison, completing production, modification, military inspection, and road testing within just 10 working days.
Of the seven vehicles, five were modified from the NJ2045 SUV platform, designed for rescue, engineering, communication, and transportation roles. The remaining two were A40 buses. All were painted white in accordance with UN specifications and marked with the organization’s emblem.
Nanjing Iveco has long been recognized as one of the most successful joint ventures of the Fiat Group. Backed by modern management systems like ERP, the company continuously enhances its manufacturing, R&D, and technical capabilities. This latest contribution highlights Iveco’s commitment to national defense and global peace, reinforcing its reputation as a leader in military vehicle technology.
Iron wire is generally made of carbon Steel wire and is usually used for weaving, baling. It is suitable for home and construction.
Iron wire is obtained by thermal annealing to give it the properties required for its main use - shaping. This wire is used both in civil engineering and agriculture. Thus, in civil engineering, it is used for iron shaping. In agriculture, it is used for baling hay. It is designed to restore the wire to its ductility lost during the drawing process.
Iron wire is stored in the form of coils or spools of different weights and sizes, depending on its use and the needs of the customer. The product is usually without any type of protective lining, paper or plastic. We offer a wide range of iron wires that provide excellent flexibility and softness through an oxygen-free annealing process.
