For those who want more details, ABC Chicago has an article available [here].
According to the Chicago Fire Department spokesperson, the warehouse fire that broke out Tuesday evening will result in a complete loss.
The initial tweet at around 9:50 PM read, "Totally involved... This is a major fire." Shortly after, another update confirmed part of the structure had collapsed. Firefighters were in defensive mode tackling the blaze in a building located on the 3700 block of South Ashland Avenue. Despite the initial assurance that the fire would remain contained, it spread to an adjacent building. The owner of a neighboring printing company, situated at 3801 S. Ashland Ave., was present and worried about potential chemical explosions within the premises.
It's been a long night for everyone involved, and our thoughts go out to all the first responders who worked tirelessly to control this dangerous situation. Stay safe, everyone!
