From Scott Peterson:
I came across this fire truck while driving through Hebron, Illinois. It was purchased from a firefighter in Skokie by Doug Reno. The vehicle will be on display at the Illinois Railway Museum this weekend and the following two weekends. It’s going to be used to fill a steam engine called *The Leviathan*. The piping on the driver’s side was specially fabricated to allow for a quick-fill method when the rig is in Union to refill the steam engine. The rig is in excellent condition and is equipped with WLF, model number 80-1129.
Here are some photos of the 1975 Ward LaFrance Ambassador engine from Wadsworth, Ohio. These images show the truck in great detail, giving a clear view of its classic design and overall good state of preservation. Whether you're a fire truck enthusiast or just curious about vintage equipment, this piece of history is definitely worth checking out if you're near the museum.
If you have any questions about the truck or its history, feel free to reach out. It's always interesting to learn more about these old machines and the stories behind them.
