Thursday afternoon, I found myself at a fire in Elmhurst. It was burning in a one-story commercial building that used to house a bridal shop. When the companies arrived, they faced intense flames, and not long after, they called for additional support with a box alarm. Several elevated master streams were deployed from the tower ladders of Elmhurst, as well as from Bensenville's tower and Addison’s quint. By the time I got there, about an hour into the fire, things were already under control, but the scene was still quite dramatic.

I wanted to share these images because they really capture the scale and intensity of the situation. Firefighting is always a team effort, and it’s inspiring to see how everyone works together to bring such dangerous situations under control.

It’s always humbling to witness the dedication of these first responders. Their hard work and quick thinking make all the difference in moments like this.
