Tinley Park barn fire 4-3-12

On April 3, 2012, around midnight, Tinley Park Fire Department was called to a reported silo fire in the 7300 block of 191st Street, located in unincorporated Will County. Upon arrival, Truck Company 204 found an abandoned barn fully engulfed and spreading to an attached silo. Engine Company 202 immediately deployed their deck gun to begin suppression efforts, while crews advanced three handlines to tackle the burning structure and a smaller shed nearby. Additional support came from mutual-aid departments in Frankfort, Mokena, Country Club Hills, and Hazel Crest. The scene was intense, with flames visible for miles. The fire quickly consumed the barn and threatened the silo, which stood as the only remaining structure. Firefighters worked diligently under challenging conditions, ensuring the fire did not spread further. The community watched as emergency personnel fought the blaze, showing great dedication and professionalism.
