Commercial fire in Waukegan, 10-10-15

Both the Waukegan Fire Department and the North Chicago Fire Department responded to reports of smoke and a possible fire early this morning on October 10, 2015. When units arrived at the scene, they found a significant fire burning at Waukegan Towing and Auto Repair, located at 1115 Elizabeth Streetâ€”just across the border from North Chicago.

The incident was initially classified as a Box Alarm for a change of quarters, but quickly escalated to bring in more units due to the intensity of the fire. Several fire engines and ladder trucks were dispatched to contain the blaze, which was burning fiercely and posed a risk to nearby structures.
