The Buffalo Grove Fire and Police Departments joined forces with the Patriot Guard Riders to honor Airman Ben Rosengarden as he returned home from Afghanistan on Thursday evening. A special dinner was held in his honor at the Village Bar & Grill in Buffalo Grove, where local firefighters and police officers came together to show their appreciation for his service. The event was made even more meaningful when Buffalo Grove and Deerfield police officers led a ceremonial escort from Deerfield to the venue, accompanied by members of the Patriot Guard Riders.
As part of the welcome, several fire department units were on hand to pay tribute to the returning hero. The procession included a formation of firefighters standing proudly in uniform, waving American flags and showing their support. One of the most memorable moments was when Airman Rosengarden met with the firefighters who had gathered to thank him personally for his dedication and sacrifice.
