Tim Olk was driving yesterday when he spotted a fire truck heading toward the Metra station on Lake-Cook Road in Northbrook. Curious, he followed the vehicle and arrived just in time to witness a PACE transit bus engulfed in flames. Northbrook Engine 10 was already on the scene, working quickly to contain the fire.
The blaze started in the engine compartment of a parked transit bus, causing significant damage. Fortunately, no one was injured. Tim captured several powerful images of the incident, showing firefighters battling the fire and the extent of the destruction.
Tim has a gallery of images HERE. His photos provide a real-time look at how quickly emergency crews responded and the intensity of the fire. It's a reminder of how important it is to stay alert and aware of our surroundings—especially when something unexpected happens right in front of us.
