On Sunday evening at 8:30 PM, Buffalo Grove firefighters responded to a reported fire in a second-floor bedroom at 691 Checker Road. As the units were en route, they were informed by NWCD that a neighbor had spotted flames on the roof, and shortly after, another neighbor reported fire on the side of the house. Upon arrival, Battalion 4 observed heavy fire and immediately requested a Code 4 upgrade to escalate their response. Firefighters from Buffalo Grove worked from both the exterior and interior to bring the fire under control while conducting thorough searches throughout the structure. Additional support came from nearby departments including Long Grove, Lincolnshire-Riverwoods, Wheeling, Arlington Heights, and Northbrook, along with Buffalo Grove EMA’s MobileComm unit. The incident remains under investigation, and no injuries have been reported at this time.
