Top Off-Road E-Bike Routes in the US You Must Explore

When Delfast launched our new OFFROAD e-bike model based on popular demand from our American customers, we couldn't help but wonder: What are the best off-road routes in the US? To answer that question, we’ve compiled a list of some of the most incredible off-road trails across the country. These routes are perfect for riders looking to put their Delfast OFFROAD e-bikes to the test while experiencing the beauty of nature.

    Mojave Road, Arizona and California

Located between Arizona and California, the Mojave Road spans 147 miles from Bullhead City to Newberry Springs. Known as the Old Government Road, this historic path was used by Spanish colonizers, explorers, and missionaries during the 18th and 19th centuries. Riding the Mojave Road is an unforgettable experience, with breathtaking landscapes ranging from rugged deserts to serene vistas. However, be cautious—this area is home to many rattlesnakes!

It typically takes three days to complete the journey, but you might find yourself lingering longer thanks to the mesmerizing scenery. Just remember to pack plenty of water and stay alert!

    Backcountry Discovery Route, Washington (WBDR)

The Washington Backcountry Discovery Route, created by Bryce Stevens and Andrew Cull, stretches over 600 miles through the diverse landscapes of Washington State. From lush rainforests in the Cascade Mountains to arid desert plains in Eastern Washington, this route offers something for every type of rider. Along the way, you'll encounter numerous campsites and hotels, making it easier to recharge your Delfast OFFROAD e-bike.

While the Mojave Road and WBDR are two standout routes, they’re far from the only ones worth exploring. Other fantastic off-road trails can be found in Colorado, Utah, Idaho, and California.

    Alpine Loop Trail, Colorado

Starting in Lake City, Colorado, the 63-mile Alpine Loop Trail winds through the majestic San Juan Mountains. As you traverse this off-road loop road, you’ll pass by seven abandoned ghost towns, adding an eerie yet captivating charm to the ride. The route is especially breathtaking during autumn when the leaves change colors. Keep in mind that the Alpine Loop Trail is closed during winter months, so plan accordingly.

    El Camino Del Diablo, Arizona

Nicknamed “The Devil’s Highway,” the 250-mile El Camino Del Diablo in Arizona earned its ominous moniker due to its challenging terrain. Beginning near Ajo, Arizona, this dirt road follows the Mexico-United States border. Riders must carry additional water and emergency supplies, as assistance can be difficult to access in such remote areas. Adventurous souls brave enough to attempt this route do so entirely at their own risk.

Magruder Road Corridor, Idaho and Montana

Named after Lloyd Magruder, who tragically died on this road in 1863, the 117-mile Magruder Road Corridor connects Elk City, Idaho, with Darby, Montana. Although the route may feel slightly uncomfortable at times due to its winding paths, it remains a thrilling off-road adventure. Expect to spend roughly two days completing the journey, soaking in the untouched wilderness along the way.

    White Rim Trail, Utah

To wrap up our list, we couldn’t miss mentioning the iconic 71-mile White Rim Trail in Utah. Two days are ideal for fully appreciating the towering buttes, sandstone arches, and other geological wonders along the route. Don’t forget to bring sufficient water—it’s essential in this arid environment. And if you're feeling ambitious, the Delfast OFFROAD e-bike can handle the entire trail in one go without needing to stop for charging!

We hope these routes inspire you to hit the trails and explore the great outdoors. Happy riding, and see you on the road!
