Just saw this update from the HME Fire Trucks Facebook page! They recently delivered a brand-new side-mount pumper to the Glenwood Fire Department in the Village of Glenwood, Illinois. This beauty is built on an HME 1871-SFO custom chassis, which is known for its impressive maneuverability, making it perfect for navigating tight spaces. Equipped with a powerful 2000-GPM HME Hydra Technologyâ„¢ pump, this rig can handle even the toughest firefighting challenges. It also features a 750-gallon water tank, a corrosion-resistant pumper-style body, and plenty of thoughtful storage solutions. Kudos to the Glenwood Fire Department and their Fire Chief, Kevin Welsh, for upgrading to such a capable vehicle!
I snagged some photos from HME Fire Trucks to give you a closer look. The first image shows the overall design of the fire engine, while the second gives a great view of the pump panel. The third photo highlights the attention to detail in the body construction. And the fourth image really captures the scale and presence of this impressive machine. If you're ever in Glenwood, keep an eye out for this new addition to their fleet—it’s sure to make a difference in the community.
By the way, if you haven’t already, be sure to like HME Fire Trucks’ Facebook page. They consistently post fantastic content about their latest builds and industry news. Stay safe, everyone!
